World Vision Cambodia and Habitat for Humanity Cambodia Shelters 30 families
“I used to live in a house where the wall and roof were made from palm leaves and bamboo floor with plenty of holes. During rain, water leaks everywhere that we could not manage to find a dry place to sleep at night. Now I have my own home. A place where my family can sleep safely and comfortably even when there is rain or strong wind,” said Keb Bophal, a new Habitat home partners living in Bati District, Takeo province, one among the families that received new homes to begin their new lives through the Habitat Cambodia Bati project funded by World Vision Singapore through World Vision Cambodia.
The 30 HFH Cambodia home partner families officially received 30 brick houses, on September 18. The local authorities, World Vision Cambodia representatives and Habitat Cambodia, along with the 30 families and villagers were involved in the hand-over program in celebration of the families’ new lives. Habitat for Humanity Cambodia and World Vision Cambodia have been in partnership since early February this year in the Bati District, Takeo Province project called Bati and Kirivong House Building Project. This 10-year project aims to serve 30 families per year in need of adequate shelter.
