First Global Village Team in Battambang
The first ever Global Village volunteer team in Battambang was finally hosted on November 18 by HFH Cambodia project staff.
The eight member team from United States and two local students worked together to produce 120 hand-made soil blocks in 13 makara Village, Prek Preah Sdach Commune, Battambang province.
The volunteers were inspired to raise awareness among the local community people about water and sanitation that they shared insights and knowledge along with the local authorities including the Deputy Municipal Governor, Commune Council and Village Chiefs in Battambang about daily hygiene and the benefits of using clean water. They also demonstrated the proper use of water filter to 20 families living in the project site. At the end of the program, the team donated 20 water filters to the 20 families.
