Thirty-one Water User Group (WUG) Trainings were held September 10-13 across Siem Reap Province under the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH)  Project. This project is funded by the Charitable Foundation of Australia.

Through this training, villagers and WUGs were able to understand the operational maintenance required to keep their facilities in good working order. Additionally, the training focused on the involvement of the communities in contributing to the sustainability of water supplies, addressing supply related issues, as well as the promotion of proper usage, and sanitation and hygiene practices within the community. Water User Groups consist of five village members selected by a vote. Elected group members are responsible for collecting and maintaining funds for the operation and maintenance of water and sanitation resources, as well as system repairs and providing further hygiene education.
